In Google's recent challenge towards becoming a global news center, I have come to notice that the results sent from Google News appears like simply the articles we publish everyday. So I ask, does not it appear to be Google News resembles an article listing of some forms?

* Google News World: http://news.google.com

* Google News Canada: http://news.google.ca

* Google News UK: http://news.google.co.uk

I only mention this because when publishing my online marketing posts, I often wonder when they show up within Google News? 9 times out of 1-0, they do! In-fact, they often appear within 4-8 hours to be found from other top related web sites.

So how exactly does Google News pick it's content?

Right now, it appears that 'news stores' & 'press release organizations' associated with your area on the web are cashing in on these search results. Once you think about it, would not a press release be considered a type of media anyways? Possibly...

If you have a good look at the sites who provide the material within Google media, you'll observe that only a select few are giving all of the results. Again, it is possible that Google's news algorithm is still in its infant stages and probably includes a large amount of uphill battles to beat.

It could be in Google's best interest to assemble a group of experts in different areas to just accept articles/news submissions in order to keep the information source within the Google kingdom.

There's Just A Fraction of Results Showing:

While searching through the GN section, you'll also discover a somewhat small percentage of actual search engine results arising. Just a portion of a proportion of results get stated within the GN search results when compared with exactly the same results within the normal search results available on Google's main page.

Only the sections on the left deliver true real-time news. These are: Leading Stories|World|Business|Sci/Tech|Sports|Entertainment|Health. These links provide real-time results provided from reliable information sources o-nline.

Google News Alerts - E-zine anyone?

When you think about it, you are giving your email to Google to get relevant articles to the key phrase sent to your inbox, so how exactly does this vary from every other standard newsletter? Are we going to start seeing Google Adwords within-the information alerts? May they consider giving large the opportunity to corporations to market inside their email signals as an one-time mailing! I hope not.

More and more we are viewing less of the Google we once knew and came to love (A research bar with some good benefits). For one more standpoint, people can check-out: Burnaby Counselling Centre Launches Google Map Listing. Since Google's IPO, the devel-opment group at GG are starting to launch applications online that are starting to resemble what we now know as the great Yahoo Portal.

Maybe there is any difference? Most likely not.
