In Google's new battle towards becoming a global news middle, I have come to observe that the results delivered from Google News appears like nothing more than the articles we publish each and every day. So I ask, doesn't it seem like Google News resembles articles listing of some types?

* Google News World: http://news.google.com

* Google News Canada: http://news.google.ca

* Google News UK: http://news.google.co.uk

I only mention this because when distributing my online marketing articles, I often wonder if they appear within Google News? 9 times out of 10, they do! In-fact, they often show up within 4-8 hours of being found from other top related web sites.

How does Google News choose it is content?

Right now, it appears that 'information facilities' & 'press release companies' linked to your area online are cashing in on these search results. When you think about it, wouldn't a press release be described as a type of information anyways? Possibly...

If you take a good look at the websites who deliver the information within Google news, you'll notice that only a select few are giving every one of the results. Again, it is possible that Google's information algorithm remains in its infant stages and probably includes a lot of uphill battles to beat.

It may be in Google's best interest to put together a team of professionals in various areas to just accept articles/news submissions in order to keep the news source within the Google kingdom.

There's Only A Fraction of Results Showing:

You will also observe a somewhat small part of actual search engine results developing, while searching through the GN part. Be taught more on a partner link by visiting Burnaby Counselling Centre Launches Google Map Listing. Only a portion of the proportion of results get outlined within the GN search results when compared with the same results within the regular search results found on Google's main site.

Only the sections to the left deliver actual real-time media. These are: Prime Stories|World|Organization|Sci/Tech|Sports|Activity|Health. These links provide results provided from credible news sources online.

Google News Alerts - E-zine anybody?

When you consider it, you are offering your email address to Google to get relevant articles to the search term brought to your inbox, how does this change from every other standard publication? Are we going to begin seeing Google Adwords within-the media alerts? May they consider giving large the chance to corporations to advertise of their email signals as an one-time mailing! I am hoping not.

More and more we're viewing less of the Google we once knew and came to love (A search club with some good results). Because Google's IPO, the development group at GG are starting to launch applications o-nline that are starting to resemble what we now know while the good Yahoo Portal.

Will there be any difference? Not likely.
