In Google's recent battle towards becoming a global media heart, I have come to observe that the results sent from Google News appears like only the articles we publish each and every day. So I ask, doesn't it look like Google News resembles a write-up index of some sorts?

* Google News World: http://news.google.com

* Google News Canada: http://news.google.ca

* Google News UK: http://news.google.co.uk

I only mention this because when submitting my online marketing articles, I often wonder if they show up within Google News? 9 times out of 1-0, they do! Actually, they generally show up within 4-8 hours to be indexed from other top related web sites.

How does Google News pick it's content?

Right now, it seems that 'information centers' & 'press release organizations' associated with your area on the web are profiting from these search results. Once you consider it, wouldn't a press release be considered a type of information anyways? Possibly...

You will observe that only a select few are giving every one of the results, if you take a good look at the sites who provide the information within Google news. Again, it is possible that Google's media algorithm remains in its infant stages and probably includes a lot of constant battles to conquer.

It could be in Google's best interest to put together a staff of experts in different areas to accept articles/news submissions so that you can keep the news source within the Google kingdom.

There's Only A Fraction of Effects Showing:

You'll also recognize a somewhat small part of actual search engine results arising, while searching through the GN section. Only a portion of a percentage of results get shown within the GN search results compared to exactly the same results within the standard search results available on Google's main page.

Only the parts to the left provide actual real-time information. These are: Top Reports|World|Business|Sci/Tech|Activities|Activity|Health. These links provide results provided from credible information sources o-nline.

Google News Alerts - E-zine anyone?

When you consider it, you are offering your current email address to Google to get relevant articles to the key phrase sent to your inbox, so how exactly does this differ from every other normal publication? Are we going to start seeing Google Adwords within-the information signals? May they consider giving large the opportunity to organizations to promote within their email signals as an one-time mailing! I am hoping not.

More and more we are viewing less of the Google we once knew and came to love (A search club with some great results). Burnaby Counselling Centre Launches Google Map Listing includes supplementary resources about the purpose of this concept. Since Google's IPO, the develop-ment group at GG are starting to launch applications on the web that are starting to resemble what we now know as the good Yahoo Portal.

Maybe there is any difference? Most likely not.

One Great Point About Google News:

They've given you the power to customize your page showing what-ever news topics you need. Simply consider the right side for a button that says 'Customize this site New'! .. Once you click this link a drop-down box shows you all of the major topics you've shown within your page. Simply click on the topic you intend to customize or remove. The most effective part of it all is that you can click on 'Put in a custom section' and only search for this issue you wish to have shown on your site.

In general you are able to create a complete custom information page (author articles) that connect with your market..
