In Google's current challenge towards becoming a global news center, I've come to realize that the outcomes provided from Google News appears like simply the articles we publish every day. So I ask, doesn't it look like Google News resembles an article index of some forms?

* Google News World: http://news.google.com

* Google News Canada: http://news.google.ca

* Google News UK: http://news.google.co.uk

I only mention this because when posting my online marketing posts, I often wonder when they show up within Google News? 9 times out of 1-0, they are doing! Actually, they generally appear within 48 hours to be indexed from other top related websites.

How can Google News pick it's content?

At the moment, it would appear that 'media stores' & 'press release companies' associated with your field on line are cashing in on these search results. Whenever you consider it, would not a press release be considered a form of news anyways? Possibly...

You will notice that only a select few are providing every one of the results, if you take a good look at the websites who deliver the information within Google media. Again, it's possible that Google's information protocol is still in its infant stages and probably has a lot of constant battles to overcome.

It may be in Google's best interest to assemble a group of professionals in different areas to accept articles/news articles to be able to keep the news source within the Google kingdom.

There's Only A Portion of Results Showing:

You'll also notice a relatively small percentage of actual search engine results coming up, while searching through the GN section. Only a portion of the percentage of results get stated within the GN search results compared to exactly the same results within the normal search results found on Google's main site.

Only the parts on the left provide true real-time information. These are: Leading Reports|World|Organization|Sci/Tech|Activities|Entertainment|Health. These links provide real-time effects delivered from credible news sources on the web.

Google News Alerts - E-zine anybody?

When you consider it, you're giving your email to Google to get relevant articles to the search phrase sent to your email, how can this change from every other normal publication? Are we going to start seeing Google Adwords within the news signals? Will they consider giving large corporations the opportunity to market within their email alerts as an one-time mailing! I am hoping not.

More and more we're seeing less of the Google we once knew and have come to love (A research club with some great results). Because Google's IPO, the develop-ment team at GG are starting to launch programs on the web that are starting to resemble what we now know while the good Yahoo Portal.

Will there be any difference? Most likely not.
