In Google's current struggle towards becoming a worldwide media middle, I've come to observe that the outcomes provided from Google News seems like nothing more than the articles we publish daily. So I ask, doesn't it look like Google News resembles articles directory of some sorts?

I only mention this because when publishing my online marketing posts, I often wonder should they appear within Google News? 9 times out of 10, they do! In reality, they usually show up within 4-8 hours to be found from other top related sites.
So how exactly does Google News select it is content?
At this time, it appears that 'media stores' & 'press release organizations' linked to your area on the web are cashing in on these search results. Once you contemplate it, wouldn't a press release be a type of information anyways? Possibly...
You will notice that only a select few are offering all of the results, if you take a good look at the sites who deliver the material within Google media. Again, it is possible that Google's news formula remains in its infant stages and probably has a large amount of uphill battles to defeat.
It might be in Google's best interest to assemble a team of experts in different fields to just accept articles/news submissions to be able to keep the news source within the Google empire.
