In Google's current fight towards becoming a global news middle, I've come to observe that the results provided from Google News appears like nothing more than the articles we publish every-day. So I ask, doesn't it appear to be Google News resembles a write-up index of some sorts?

* Google News World: http://news.google.com

* Google News Canada: http://news.google.ca

* Google News UK: http://news.google.co.uk

I only mention this because when submitting my website marketing articles, I often wonder should they appear within Google News? 9 times out of 10, they are doing! In-fact, they generally arrive within 48 hours of being listed from other top related sites.

How can Google News pick it's content?

Right now, it seems that 'information centers' & 'pr release organizations' related to your field on line are making the most of these search results. If you consider it, would not a press release be considered a kind of media anyways? Possibly...

You will observe that only a select few are offering most of the results, if you have a good look at the sites who provide the information within Google information. Again, it is possible that Google's information algorithm is still in its infant stages and probably includes a lot of constant battles to beat.

It may be in Google's best interest to gather a staff of professionals in various areas to just accept articles/news submissions to be able to keep the information source within the Google kingdom.

There is Just A Portion of Results Showing:

While searching through the GN area, you will also discover a comparatively small portion of actual search results coming up. Just a fraction of the proportion of results get shown within the GN search results when compared with exactly the same results within the regular search results available on Google's main site.

Only the parts on the left offer actual real-time media. These are: Prime Reports|World|Business|Sci/Tech|Activities|Entertainment|Health. These links provide real-time results provided from reliable information sources on line.

Google News Alerts - Ezine anyone?

When you consider it, you are giving your email address to Google to get related articles to the key phrase sent to your in-box, how does this vary from any other standard newsletter? Are we going to begin seeing Google Adwords within the news signals? May they consider giving large the ability to firms to market of their email signals as an one-time mailing! I hope not.

More and more we are seeing less of the Google we once knew and attended to love (A search club with some good benefits). Since Google's IPO, the develop-ment team at GG are starting to launch applications online that are starting to resemble what we now know while the good Yahoo Portal.

Maybe there is any difference? Not likely.
