In Google's new challenge towards becoming a global information center, I've come to observe that the outcome delivered from Google News appears like nothing more than the articles we publish every day. So I ask, does not it look like Google News resembles articles listing of some types?

I only mention this because when publishing my internet marketing articles, I often wonder should they show up within Google News? 9 times out of 1-0, they do! The truth is, they generally show up within 48 hours of being listed from other top related web sites.
So how exactly does Google News select it is content?
At this time, it appears that 'information stores' & 'pr release organizations' related to your field on line are cashing in on these research results. When you consider it, would not a press release be considered a kind of information anyways? Possibly...
You'll notice that only a select few are providing all the results, if you have a good look at the sites who provide the material within Google news. Again, it's possible that Google's news protocol remains in its infant stages and probably has a large amount of uphill battles to beat.
It could be in Google's best interest to put together a team of experts in various fields to simply accept articles/news articles so that you can keep the information source within the Google empire.
