Google News - Just another article announcer 14578
In Google's new struggle towards becoming an international media center, I have come to observe that the results provided from Google News appears like simply the articles we publish everyday. So I ask, doesn't it look like Google News resembles articles directory of some types?

I only mention this because when publishing my website marketing posts, I often wonder if they appear within Google News? 9 times out of 1-0, they are doing! In fact, they often show up within 48 hours of being found from other top related websites.
How can Google News choose it's content?
Right now, it would appear that 'information stores' & 'pr release organizations' related to your industry on the web are making the most of these research results. Whenever you think about it, wouldn't a press release be described as a form of information anyways? Possibly...
You'll notice that only a select few are providing every one of the results, if you have a good look at the sites who provide the material within Google media. Again, it's possible that Google's information algorithm remains in its infant stages and probably has a lot of constant battles to conquer.
It could be in Google's best interest to put together a staff of experts in various areas to just accept articles/news submissions in order to keep the information source within the Google kingdom.
There's Only A Fraction of Benefits Showing:
While searching through the GN part, you'll also observe a somewhat small part of actual search results coming up. Just a portion of a percentage of results get stated within the GN search results compared to the same results within the standard search results available on Google's main site.
Only the sections to the left deliver true real-time information. These are: Prime Reports|World|Business|Sci/Tech|Activities|Activity|Health. These links provide results provided from credible information sources o-nline.
Google News Alerts - Ezine everyone?
When you consider it, you are giving your current email address to Google to get relevant articles to the search phrase brought to your mailbox, how can this vary from any other regular newsletter? Are we going to begin seeing Google Adwords within-the information alerts? May they consider giving large companies the opportunity to promote within their email signals as an one time mailing! I really hope not.
